Today man can't move a step forward without the help of science. So, science is one of the main subjects in school curriculum but students take it as a dry subject. In fact, our students are not getting science education in a proper way as there is lack of trained teachers, skillful teacher and lack of materials needed for practical.
How far it is relevant to teach science through rote learning, when the saying says practical knowledge is better than theoretical knowledge, one question is always in front of us. Therefore, it is our responsibility to prepare the students mentally for science study with useful skills.
In this Post, we find the use of things around our houses, which are thought useless, can be used for science practicals.
Below are the list of practical that are prepared for students. Some of our topic related to these are - Elementary Science Project, Science Project for Kids, Stem Fair ideas, Fun Science etc.
Necessary Materials: - Making of Inflammable Thread:
- A spoon made of steel.
- Almost 3-4 meter long piece of cotton thread.
- A candlestick and matches.
Preparation: How to make Inflammable Thread?
Light the Candle and set the piece of thread, starting from one side of the ends, on the flame of candle. Do it for 2-3 times. Every time the thread burns and shivers. Thus, it is proved that as soon as the thread catches fire, it shivers.
Now, tell your friends that even fire cannot burn the thread, and then present the game. For this, coil the thread on the handle of the spoon as shown in the picture. Set fire to the coil of thread with the flame of candle. Keep on setting fire to the coil of thread for a few moments and uncoil it. What happened?........... The thread neither got burnt nor shivered.

Caution: As the thread has been coiled on the lower surface of the handle of the spoon, set that very part on fire. In case of setting the opposite part on fire, the thread will burn and shiver.
The Scientific Reason : Making of Inflammable thread:
The thread did not burn because of the conduction of heat. There is required a definite quantity of temperature for any kind of substance to burn . When the thread is coiled on the spoon and set fire, it cannot get the quantity of temperature mentioned. As the spoon or any other thing, which is made of mental conducts the heat produced in the thread, the later does not burn.
