Necessary Materials for Making of Artificial Cloud?
A transparent container with the opening wide, water, fine powder
of chalk, a piece of balloon that can cover the opening of the container, 2-3
rubber-bands.
Method of Making of Artificial Cloud?
Put water in the container as shown in the picture and close it
with the cap and then lay it closed for about 10 minutes. Then open the cap and
put teaspoonful powder of chalk into the container. Stretch out the piece of
balloon and cover the opening of container with it and bind it with the rubber
band. Lay it in the same condition for 3-4 minutes. Now press the piece of
balloon tied over the opening of container, with a finger. As a result, the
pressure inside the container will increase. Just after a short while, remove
the finger and look into the bottle. There will be seen could-like shapes over
the surface of water. If the shapes are not seen or not obviously seen, press
the opening again.
Reason why Artificial clouds are formed?
When the piece of balloon
tied over the opening is pressed and then left, air inside the container cools
and some water vapors clots in the chalk-powder because of which there are seen
the cloud-like appearances.
